Superpowers in the Centers

9 Centered Being

When you look at your Human Design Chart, one of the first things you notice are the 9 shapes – the triangles and squares.  It’s most likely that in your chart some of them will be white and some of them will be colored (unless you happen to be one of the 1% of us who are Reflectors and all will be white).

Each shape represents one of the nine Human Design Energy Centers. Each of those Energy Centers represents a different type of energy.

If an Energy Center is colored in, or “Defined”, then you have consistency and reliability in the way you experience the particular energy that Center represents. This Defined energy is somewhat fixed for you and you are broadcasting this energy out into the world – influencing and inspiring others.

If the Center is white, or “Open”/(“Undefined”), then you experience that particular energy in many, many ways.  You are taking in, or receiving the energy of that Center from around you and amplifying it.  The Open Centers can be areas of vulnerability and sensitivity for you, given that you are open to what is going on around you in an amplified It will feel “even bigger” than the original energy you received.  But because you get to receive the energy of your Open Centers in so many ways, you have the potential through your learning and experience of them, to become very wise about the energies they carry.

Along with their own specific energies, each of the centers, whether Defined or Open, have SUPER POWERS – real abilities of strength and wisdom.

They also come with their own CHALLENGES – effects to look out for and be aware of.   But you’ll also be given the KEYS to allowing these energies to express themselves in their highest possible potential.

Let’s take a look at each of these nine incredible Energy Centers.

Undefined (Open) Head Center

SUPER POWER: MIND READER. You’re deeply inspired all the time by the minds that are in your energy field. You can go to a coffee shop or anywhere there are people and get tons of inspiration.

CHALLENGE: You may feel pressure throughout your life to act every time you are inspired. You may feel compelled to answer other people’s questions. However, the inspirations are not all for you.  You can follow the wrong inspirations or too many and get burned out.

KEY: If you are inspired all the time, how do you know what inspirations to follow? Use your personal authority to figure out what’s right for you. This will help you be wise about what is truly inspiring.  Only follow the ones that truly excite you!

Defined Head Center

SUPER POWER: MIND CONTROL. You’re here to radiate inspiration out of your being and inspire others. You are the reason we have new ideas and innovation in this world. You are inspired & inspiring and spread inspiration everywhere you go. Share your inspirations, they are a gift to others.

CHALLENGE: You may feel pressure to share your inspiration with others but you’re not sure how to break it down so they can understand it. You can also get stuck with one way of thinking about something and think there is no solution.

KEY: Be gentle with your thinking and remember that there are many ways to contemplate information.  Be open & listen carefully to the thoughts of others.

Undefined (Open) Ajna Center

SUPER POWER: DECODER. You’re designed to be open minded. You’ve the capacity for seeing things from an unlimited amount of perspectives and you can then translate the answer into ordinary language. If someone is stuck, you’ll find a new solution. You can comprehend many different understandings and they can change all the time.

CHALLENGE: It can be hard to remember when you have so many concepts flowing through. You can struggle to be certain (or think you must be!) and may have been told to “just make up your mind!” or pressured to give one straightforward opinion and stick to it.

KEY: The only correct beliefs for you to hold onto are the ones that still prove valuable to you after following your personal authority and strategy for decision making.  Also, try to write things down that you want to remember.

Defined Ajna Center

SUPERPOWER: PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY. You can express concepts with certainty and consistency along with your potential for a photographic memory. Your mind is like a computer program that memorizes, stores and file and analyzes things in a consistent, reliable way.

CHALLENGE: You can also get stuck in one way of processing information and not be able to see another solution. Remember that even in your sense of certainty there is still some level of uncertainty; therefore, not everyone is going to agree with you. You may be seen as “stubborn” or “prideful”.

KEY: Ask a friend who has an undefined Ajna to use their superpower to help you see another perspective! Be gentle with your thinking and remember that there are many ways to contemplate information.  Be open and listen carefully to the thoughts of others.

Undefined (Open) Throat Center

SUPER POWER: WORLD TRANSLATOR. A healthy open throat can become very wise about adjusting to new languages, dialects or ways of speaking. You may literally speak different world languages, but it goes beyond that. Your gift is to speak to people how they need to hear it best. It may be words that come out of your mouth, written word or your creations.

CHALLENGE: You may constantly feel pressured to speak, but you are best heard when you are invited to speak. You can need attention & overcompensate and speak too much or be timid in speaking. When

you don’t feel heard you may try to get attention inappropriately in order to be heard, but it rarely works out.

KEY: Save your words for people who truly desire to hear your point of view and insights. Wait for the right people to ask you and value your words.

Defined Throat Center

SUPER POWER: VOICE RECOGNITION. You speak with voice that is consistent and others may find that comforting. What you speak about depends on what is connected to your Throat Center.  For example, if your Ajna Center is connected to your Throat Center, you will speak your mind.

CHALLENGE: The way you speak is more fixed and you may not be able to translate what you say in a way that everyone can hear it. As well, not everyone is interested in hearing it in the way you are designed to share, which can leave you feeling misunderstood.

KEY: Find the people that want to hear your voice and the way you share. Spend your time at work or free time who accept the way you share. Look at your Human Design Chart to find out what other center (s) your Throat Center is attached to.

Undefined (Open) G/Identity Center

SUPER POWER: CHAMELEON. Like a chameleon you change depending on who is near you. You mirror who or what you are around. You are very sensitive and can easily take on the identity of the other and know them on a deep level. What you experience depends on your surroundings. You love in multiple ways and you radiate love.

CHALLENGE:  You may struggle accepting love from others and feeling lovable.  As well, it’s easy to lose yourself in the identity of another or feel like a lack of direction in your life.

Key: Surround yourself with people who feel good.  Create environments that soothe you. This includes your home, workplace, your partnerships, your friendships and your natural environment. When you are in the right place with the right people, the right opportunities come to you.

Defined G/Identity Center

SUPER POWER: NAVIGATION INTUITION. You have a defined path in life and are steadfast in it. you have the amazing ability to know who you really are through it all. You won’t get as hung up on where you’re headed because you have an innate sense of your path. You know who you really are at your core, even if it takes time to consciously realize that.  You have a somewhat fixed menu of life. You can alter the toppings, but the main dish stays the same.

CHALLENGE: You often struggle with self-acceptance.

KEY: Accepting that you are who you are. Express yourself in all that you do and celebrate the brilliance of who you are. Make that main dish really well.

Undefined (Open) Will Center

SUPER POWER: TREASURE DETECTOR. You know what’s valuable in life and it’s often not money!  Material value, money, resources.

CHALLENGE: Pressure to use willpower (that you don’t have) to push through difficult situations and prove yourself. You may question your value and feel pressure to prove yourself in a career or relationship that is simply not correct for you. This never-ending cycle leads to feelings of failure, low self-worth and eventually totally burning out.

KEY: You have nothing to prove and be at peace with that.  Courageously accept your personal value.  Make promises and commitments deliberately only according to your personal authority and strategy so you have enough energy as well as space to rest. Understand your deep need for a more restful pace and discharging the willpower energy of others after you’ve taken it in.

Defined Will Center

SUPER POWER: SUPER STRENGTH, You have a backup/super power battery that can give you super strength for bursts of time. You can push through things even if you don’t really want to be doing them because you have consistent willpower.

CHALLENGE: You can push when you don’t have the energy and burn yourself out. Others also may believe you promise them things even if you didn’t, your energy just says it.

KEY: Schedule rest, it allows you to re-charge your willpower. Make sure you’re not pushing through even when you need rest. Honor promises that you make. Be gentle with your expectations of others, not everyone can do what you can. Use your potential power and material wealth for a purpose greater than just you as an individual. A balanced expression of a defined Will Center can make a huge impact on the world.

Undefined (Open) Spleen Center

SUPER POWER: PAIN DETECTOR. You are medically emphatic; you can feel other people’s physical pain. You are intuitive about healing.  You are sensitive to what is going on physically for others and can help them identify it because you feel it even stronger than they do. You can get lost in time.

CHALLENGE: You are intuitive, but it comes in different ways, so you may not always trust it. Being around people who are physically ill, as in a hospital, may be difficult for you as you may experience some or many of the symptoms yourself.  You may also hold onto things (or people or pain, etc.) longer than you should.

KEY: Learn to let go of all things that do not serve your highest good – including others’ pain. Honor your body and the messages it sends you. When you feel sick, rest. Honor your sense of timing but possibly wear a watch when time matters. Trust your intuition and know that you receive intuitive insights in many ways.

Defined Spleen Center

SUPER POWER: INTUITER. You have a consistent intuitive power. Since you will dependably feel it, with practice, it can become second nature. The more you tune in, the more familiar you’ll become with your personal way of receiving intuitive hits. You are fairly resilient in regard to health and physical pain. You have the propensity to be time focused.

CHALLENGE: When you get sick, you often get very sick because it’s already too late. You might be fearful because you live in the animal instinct.

KEY: Trust your intuition. Listen to your “gut” and feelings. Take guided action. Listen to your body. Rest and take care of yourself. Honor your sense of time. Flow with universal timing.

Undefined (Open) Emotional Solar Plexus

SUPER POWER: EMPATH (AKA FEEL OTHER’S EMOTIONS). You can feel what other people are feeling, even stronger than they do. You are very sensitive and can trust your insights about other people’s feelings and can gage the truth of the feeling in the room. Experiencing the beauty of an emotional experience occurs when you do not identify with the emotions themselves.

CHALLENGE:  You may avoid truth and conflict to avoid backlash from others trying to keep everyone happy. Or, you may be addicted to creating drama yourself.  You may also feel intense emotion that is not even yours – but think it is yours and live your life based on someone else’s emotion.

KEY: Be a screen and not a sponge. You are not meant to hold onto other’s emotions – rather feel them and let them pass through. Take breaks to get out of emotional energy when it’s too intense. Pay attention to the source of your emotions, are they yours or someone else’s?

Defined Emotional Solar Plexus

SUPER POWER: CREATIVE SURFER. You are extremely creative, and you are somewhat resilient to the emotions outside of you. You have cycles of outward creative intensity and inward integrative pause.  You essentially surf the cycles of your own waves of emotions and creativity (emotional wave) before getting clarity on decisions.

CHALLENGE: You may get stuck in the inward cycle and it may feel like it’s a bad thing and then you keep yourself there longer than you would like. Sometimes it’s hard to know when you really have clarity. Pressure to make decisions too quickly. Rushing into an opportunity will likely cause you to experience the not-self theme of your energy type.

KEY: Ride emotions in an intentional way. Take time making decisions and be deliberate – not spontaneous. Keep your vibration high. Maintain trust that you are supported during your waves. When it’s the correct time to decide, you may feel an internal “click,” as if all of the gears have shifted into place and are ready to operate. You may feel a sense of peace or internal calm.

Undefined (Open) Sacral Center

SUPER POWER:  SUPER CHARGE BOOSTER (TURBO SWITCH). You can borrow energy and be “super-charged” when you need it. If you are near a Generator or Manifesting Generator you can utilize their energy for short bursts of time (“Rent a Gen”) because you are not meant to hold onto sacral energy.

CHALLENGE: You likely feel pressure to keep going at a super charged level to keep up with most of society (sacral types). But, this intensity of work energy can’t last for more than a few hours without burning you out. You’re not designed to work in the traditional way. You simply do not have sustainable energy within your being.

KEY: Take care of yourself. Take alone time to discharge extra energy and rest.  Figure out when enough is enough. You provide value by just “being”. Find a way to both financially sustain yourself and work less hard. Be patient with yourself in the process.

Defined Sacral Center

SUPER POWER: SUSTAINABLE ENERGY. Your work energy, sexual energy and life-force energy is relatively consistent throughout your life. When you do things that light you up, you are like an energizer bunny – you can keep going and going.

CHALLENGE: When you say yes to things you don’t want to do; you drain your battery – and yet you can keep doing it.

KEY: You are designed to respond to life. It’s very important to know in your gut that your answer is a “yes” when making decisions. Follow your desires. Say “No” as often as you like. It’s the only way to maintain your energy. Be patient for the right opportunities.  Respond to what lights you up and you will be aligned with the right work and people.

Undefined (Open) Root Center

SUPER POWER: IGNITER. You can feel adrenaline rushes that have the potential to propel a stuck situation into forward momentum. The pressure essentially ignites you into action.  You can use these bursts of energy to get important things done if it feels right according to your strategy. You have the potential to understand deeply how stress functions, how to use it properly and how to distinguish between good stress & unhealthy stress.

CHALLENGE: A never-ending sense of pressure to get things done. It always feels like freedom lies on the other side of finishing the thing in front of you. Some of you will even begin to crave more intense pressure. You also may feel like others are trying to pressure you into decisions or actions.

KEY: Slow down for a moment and remind yourself that it’s okay to set something aside. Asking yourself “what’s the worst thing that could happen if I don’t do X today?” is a great strategy for doing the right things. Resting is sometimes more important than completing the item on your list. Very few situations these days are life and death emergencies requiring immediate respond. Breathing techniques for stress and anxiety can help.

Defined Root Center

SUPER POWER: HEART DEFIBRILLATOR. You may excel with pressure and stress, but just because your root center is defined, doesn’t mean you don’t experience challenges or stress. However, when you enter the correct situations using your strategy and authority, you have the potential to stay grounded and have a beautiful sense of stillness in your pursuits, even amidst stress and chaos. You can instill order in other’s stress (like a defibrillator does to the heart) and restore things to rhythm.

CHALLENGE: Something to note in relationships–by nature of your energy, others may feel you are putting pressure on them. To maintain a sense of calm it’s advisable to clearly explain your expectations. Hopefully, this will alleviate some of the pressure your friend, partner or acquaintance feels.

KEY: Honor your root pulse and wait for the energy to get things done. You will get more done when the energy is “on”. When the energy is off, remember that it is my time to rest and restore yourself.

Money, Abundance & Human Design

Have you struggled with money in your life? Have you ever felt the pressure of having too little? Have you struggled with finding the correct thing to do with the resources you do have? Of course, we all have had these kinds of experiences. Money is a tool that we all need while we are a part of human society. Human Design is not a future-telling tool. There’s nothing in your chart that tells you “Congratulations! You will be rich next year!” or “You will most certainly struggle with money in 2020.” However, when we look at the human design body graph, we can see that we are all designed to live an abundant life. That certainly includes our financial life.

The main source of money and resource energy in our chart comes from the same center as the energy of self-worth or lack thereof. Think about when you were a child and you imagined all of the things you desired— the things that brought you joy and pleasure. There was no question of whether or not you deserved all of the good things you imagined. We are born without the conditioning of social strata, income inequality and things being out of reach due to lack of funds. Those things are drilled into us by our family situations and our environments including schools, the ways cities are divided and the media among other things.

As you may already know, following your strategy and authority is the most important foundation of living your design.  It’s important to know that even if you don’t look into the finer details of the chart for clues about how to interact with money energy in your life, following your strategy and authority will inevitably get you there naturally. Doing this aligns you with the creative Source of the Universe, and when you are aligned the correct opportunities flow to you! Source does not want you to suffer or struggle— we are not here to live in survival mode. Our conditioning likely tells us that we should be satisfied with just getting by and that we should accept the bare minimum, limiting ourselves and shying away from appreciating and loving money so as not to appear garish.

How can we understand money in the context of following our type’s strategy? Let’s take a quick look at each type.

Projectors & Money

Follow your bliss, rest, and tune into your self-value to connect with abundance.

Your strategy is to wait for an invitation, but the waiting piece doesn’t always feel easy. You may have been conditioned by society to work hard, especially at the things you are very naturally talented at. There’s always a chance of being burnt out because of this. While you wait for your invitations, hone your skills. Spend your time enjoying life by learning more about the things you love. The things that you feel like you could spend hours studying or pulling apart and analyzing— doing those things will bring you more and more recognition from the people who love what you know and have to offer. Practicing this will bring the correct invitations to you, and with the correct invitations come abundance.

Reflectors & Money

Be with the right community and feel good to connect with abundance.

Like Projectors, you have a waiting game that doesn’t feel easy in a world that doesn’t want to wait. The nice thing about your wait is that it is on a rather predictable 28-29 day cycle. Remember that waiting is not a passive thing; it’s probably not beneficial to lay on your couch for 29 days in order to receive clarity about a money-related decision you’re making (although, it IS possible once in a while!). You have much potential to be wise about the many ways the energy of money flows. Begin to get in touch with your lunar cycle by journaling a bit about your experience of each day and noticing patterns over time. Spend your days doing what you love, finding ease and joy in your life and waiting to be surprised by the opportunities for abundance life brings your way.

Manifestors & Money

Follow your inner creative flow and just do it to connect with abundance.

It’s time to start saying no to people-pleasing and pushing through tasks you don’t want to be doing. You are here to do your own thing, and when you do money will flow to you. You might feel pressured to follow the status quo and keep pushing, but following your own creative flow will bring you the most abundance in your life. Unlike all of the other types, there’s no waiting involved in your process. You’re truly here to “just do it” and to do whatever you want on your own time. Let the people who are going to be affected by your decisions know ahead of time, and then go for it. Watch the magic unfold in your life as you move forward boldly.

Generators & Money

Dance with life to connect with abundance.

Because you naturally embody the energy to get things done, people have been able to sense that throughout your life. You may have been asked or told to do things you didn’t want to do by parents or teachers as a child, or employers or friends as an adult. It’s important to let go of the need to do all of the work just because you can. Trust your gut, your sacral response, and what it says “yes” or “no” to. When an opportunity comes to you, notice whether your body lights up and gets excited, or whether it makes you feel down or frustrated. Learn to be okay with saying no to what doesn’t make you happy and fling yourself fully into what does. When you do, you’ll find a lot more of the correct opportunities will come into your awareness and with them, abundance.

Manifesting Generators & Money

Try things on, find inner creative flow and dance with life to connect with abundance.

Like the Generator, you have consistent energy to work and do. This may have brought all kinds of opportunities to you that you were not excited about. Maybe you felt you had to say yes to please someone or maybe you felt you had to stay at a job you didn’t enjoy in order to provide for your family. However, just because you have the energy to do something doesn’t mean you should. If you continuously say yes when you want to say no, you might burn yourself out. Like the Generator, listen to your sacral response. Which opportunities are you wholly attracted to? When you get a “yes,” envision what it will look like and then let others who will be affected know what you’re about to do. Then, go ahead and do it! Another important thing for you to remember is that in this society we are conditioned to do things “in order.” to honor your non-linear process even if no one else gets it. Trust that the unique way you go about mastering something you love is correct for you and that it will bring abundance into your life at the right time.

We are Designed to Have Everything We Need and Desire

Overall, if you are a non-energy being (a reflector, manifestor or projector), you need to let go of any conditioning that tells you to work harder and more to earn more money. For you, less is often more. If you are an energy being (Generator or manifesting Generator), you need to let go of the need to do work you “should” be doing and instead focus on what excites you and lights up your sacral response with a huge YES! When you do what you love, work energy will flow out of you and money and abundance energy will flow to you.

Humanity as a whole is designed to be abundant. There are many areas of the Human Design chart where we can see that we are meant to be wise about giving and receiving resources, managing wealth for the betterment of ourselves and for the collective, and having trust and faith that we will have everything we need to create fulfilled lives.

Whether you have these gates and channels defined or undefined is really beside the point. If these energies are defined (colored in) in your chart, you experience them consistently and in the same way. If they are undefined (white) you experience them in a variety of ways. Some days they are amplified in you and some days you don’t notice them at all. The point really is that when we all come together as families, groups, societies, and as the collective whole, we find that we fit like puzzle pieces to form a beautiful masterpiece that overflows with all of the resources we need and desire.

Would you like more information on your strategy and authority so you can apply it to all areas of your life, including your finances? Check out our guidebooks for each Human Design type. 12 Human Design Profiles

When we combine the 6 lines we learned about in [PART ONE], we get 12 different profiles. Each line flavors the other so as to make its own archetype in and of itself. If you have a smaller number first (1, 2 or 3 lines), you have a personal karma in this lifetime, and a 4, 5 or 6 line first indicates that your life will be more focused on the collective— trans-personal karma. (The only exception to this is the 4/1 profile which is neither personal nor trans-personal). Let’s take a look at each of the 12 profiles.

1-3 (Investigator/Experiential-Martyr). Both the 1 and the 3 lines are in the lower trigram, so there will be a strong focus on your own internal process throughout life. You are naturally very skeptical and always catch people who are trying to lie to you. You need to investigate and study, but don’t be too cautious— allow yourself to experiment. Sometimes the energy of the 1 takes control, and you are scared to experiment because you feel like you don’t know enough and aren’t ready. Let life be your teacher so that you can find out what truth really means for you.

1-4 (Investigator/Opportunist). Your profile is rather rare. The 1 brings a depth of knowledge and a desire to deeply investigate the things you are passionate about. Alone time is important for curating your knowledge and being in a community with people who respect that knowledge will naturally create an environment in which you share your discoveries. You will become an authority on what you have mastered when you find the correct people to surround you in your network.

2-4 (Hermit/Opportunist). There is a tension between the 2 and the 4— you’re never quite sure if you want to be alone or if you want to be out among your network of people. It’s important for you to create a safe and peaceful resting environment from which to go deep into your own internal processes and to get the rest you need, and equally important for you to develop a close community of people who will see your natural gifts. These gifts and talents are so inherent that you usually can’t see them yourself, which is why you’ll need people you trust to draw them out of you.

2-5 (Hermit/Heretic). The 2 and 5 lines together mean that people will project onto you and expect your particular natural talents to come to their rescue in some way. Because of this it’s important for you to decide what you really want to spend your time and energy on, and subsequently decide what to say yes to and what to say no to. Use your strategy and your alone time to go inward and get to know what’s aligned with your authentic self.

3-5 (Experiential-Martyr/Heretic). You are a catalyst for change and people like to live vicariously through you, for better or for worse. Many celebrities have a 3-5 profile. It can be difficult for you when you’ve experimented and “failed” after everyone has been projecting onto you and holding you their own expectations. Embracing the ups and downs and the messiness of life regardless of what people project onto you will draw the correct people to you in the end. When you get into this flow, you’ll have some of the most likable and magnetic energy of all the profiles.

3-6 (Experiential-Martyr/Role Model). The first part of your life is all about experimenting; until the end of your Saturn return you operate as a 3-3. After the age of 30 you may find more contrast within yourself. Do you want to continue to experiment? Do you want to go inward and settle down to home in on your passions? You may be unsure. You may appear to have things under total control, but on the inside,  you may feel like you need a lot of space, and that’s okay to ask for. Learn to love and appreciate the chaos of life— it’s your greatest teacher. Learn to forgive yourself for mistakes and recognize the wisdom that comes from them. When you do, others won’t be able to ignore your wisdom in the later years of your life.

4-1 (Opportunist/Investigator). You know who you are, and you have your own internal sense of right and wrong. Your life is all about sticking to your own truth and sharing the findings of your investigation about life with your close community. You may be known for externalizing everything you take in; don’t let anyone stop you!  Remember that it’s okay to make changes in your life slowly. When it feels like you’ve lost your passion or identity, always go back to the energy of your personality sun gate— it’s extra important for you.

4-6 (Opportunist/Role Model). Your whole life is about your external world (two upper trigram lines), yet you still have a personal karma so it’s correct for you to be absorbed in your own process. For your first 30 years there will be a lot of experimenting, particularly with relationships and friends. You experience a push and pull between wanting to be among your community and wanting to be alone and this can be very confusing for you. There can be a real fear of rejection with this profile. It’s important not to seek external validation, but rather to settle into who you are with the people you love and respect.

5-1 (Heretic/Investigator). You want to be a hero, to go to the depths of your knowledge base and offer it up to everyone. You love the process of learning, change, new projects and challenges and you aren’t afraid to go against the grain if you need to. You have a magnetic quality about you, seducing people into wanting to know what you have to offer.  Others will often project onto you and that can feel like a lot of pressure, especially if people have expressed disappointment with you in the past. However, following your strategy and learning to say no to things you can’t fulfill will help you avoid bitterness. Keep asking questions, becoming an authority on what you love, and owning who you are.

5-2 (Heretic/Hermit). By nature, you are self motivated and you are here to share what you know with others. You must discover your own genius, the inherent gifts that you want to put out into the world. Others might not see your inner hero archetype right away as you often hide your gifts and knowledge. If the world hasn’t “discovered” you yet, work on honing your own abilities through experimentation and integration with others. If you simply wait for others to recognize you, you may become bitter, angry, frustrated or disappointed. Ask yourself where you are separating yourself from others and where your expectations of others may be too high. What is it that you are good at? How can you recognize yourself more? It’s okay to put yourself out there.

6-2 (Role Model/Hermit). Before your Saturn return the 6 line operates as a 3, so everything will be about experimenting and letting life be your teacher. Trial and error is your process, even if your 2 line sometimes want to retreat when failure occurs. After 30 years old, there can be a time of deep retreat and aloofness. This is a time for deep healing from the pain of your experimenting years and a time for going inward to deepen your skills and self-understanding. When the time comes, others will recognize you for your wisdom and come to draw you out of the depths of your process. Don’t resist this, you were born to be a wise role model in this lifetime.

6-3 (Role Model/Martyr)

6-3 (Role Model/Martyr). Like the 3/6, for the first 30 years of your life you’ll operate as a 3/3. This looks like a lot of experimentation, both internally and externally. The experimentation might slow down after your Saturn return, but never really ends for you. You may feel restless— like you are forever searching for the right thing, the perfect thing. It’s important to forgive yourself and life for not being perfect and to stay optimistic. Responsibility and wisdom come naturally to you. Learn to balance the structure of what you’ve learned with the natural ebbs and flows of being human.

In Conclusion

Human Design Profile – The 6 Lines

There are 12 profiles in Human Design. You can find your profile either in the information section of your body graph or by finding the conscious and unconscious sun in the list of planets (the first planet). Take the conscious (black) line first, and the unconscious (red) line second. It’s the smaller decimal point after your sun gates. This is where your profile comes from.

There isn’t really anything to “do” with your profile except become aware of it. And in your awareness, let go of any ways you may have been conditioned to think there is something wrong with you for the way you were meant to naturally exist in the world.

The bottom 3 lines are called the lower trigram. (Line 1, 2, 3) are intrapersonal lines. These energies are all about your own personal karma and experience. The top 3 lines are transpersonal energy. This means you learn it with others, in the context of relationship rather than from your own personal experience. The top and bottom parts of the trigram mirror each other— the 1st line is similar to 4th, 2nd to 5th, and the 3rd to the 6th.

PART 1: THE LINES

These profiles are like archetypes that we tend to naturally embody. They are the characters we play on the stage of life. They correlate with the 6 lines in an I Ching hexagram, and they can be combined in various ways to make the 12 profiles. The first number is conscious and therefore you may be more aware of it. The second number is unconscious and others may be able to see it more than you see it yourself. As you become more aware of your human design, you may start to notice how your profile lines, both conscious and unconscious, have been constant themes throughout your life.

To understand the profiles, we must first understand the basic characteristics of each of the 6 lines in Human Design.

Line 1: The Investigator

The Investigator wants to get to the bottom of things, to figure things out. Investigators often have a strong knowledge base and can teach what they’ve learned through their research.

Line 2: The Hermit

As the total opposite of the 1, the hermit’s knowledge is inherent. They are naturally gifted and the best thing they can do for themselves is to become absorbed in their own process. During their process, they don’t want to be disturbed, thus giving off those hermit vibes. Because their knowledge is so inherent, they may have trouble seeing their own gifts and need others to point them out to become aware of them.

Line 3: The Experiential (Martyr)

Line 3 people learn by trial and error, by life experiences. They have a natural ability to keep trying again even if they fail because they aren’t afraid of failing. People may naturally be drawn to a 3 because they tend to be very likable.

Line 4: The Opportunist

The opportunities lie not with strangers, but rather within personal networks. Line 4 people want to have a close group or network of friends–their people. Their quality of life is determined by the quality of their relationships.

Line 5: The Heretic (Creative Rebel)

The 5 is the total opposite of the 4 as their process is external and impersonal. This doesn’t mean they don’t have close relationships, but they can easily network with strangers. They have a hero sort of energy which often causes others to project onto them. If you have a line 5, remember that you don’t have to save everyone— it’s okay to say no.

Line 6: The Role Model

The 6 line has three main cycles throughout life. The first cycle (Age 0 to ~30) is all about trial and error; essentially the 6 line is more like a 3 line until just after the Saturn return. The second cycle (Age 30 to ~50) is about taking everything you’ve learned and formulating it into something. This time is sometimes referred to as “being on the roof” and indicates a time of going inward and honing a craft. Later (~50+, correlating to the Chiron Return), the third cycle is about sharing the mastery and wisdom learned over a lifetime. The 6 line may always be seeking a close-knit community, soul mate or family. Trust is very important to the 6 line profiles.

How to parent in a way that honors your kids with Human Design -Adventures in Parenting Part 2

To read an introduction to parenting by type and to learn about Generator and Manifesting Generator children, please click [HERE] to go to Part 1.

You can learn to understand your child – who they are and what they need to stay resilient and self-reliant in the world.

All of our kids are very different from one another. It is important as a parent to know about the design of your kid so you can really see them for who they are and honor them for it.  If you’ve guided your child through their decision-making process, you can relish in the joy of watching them flourish with their own decision-making as they grow into adolescence and adulthood.

Do you want to give your kids permission to be more of who they are & less of who they’ve been told to be?  Part 2 below covers the other three energy types — Manifestors, Projectors and Reflectors.

The first step is to learn about your own Human Design Type as the parent. You need to understand how you work as well as how your kids work. Next, get the chart for your kid(s) and find out what Type they are. Learn more about your Type in our visual Guidebooks and “Human Design Types”. Look up your free chart: freehumandesignchart.com

Manifestor kids are here to get the ball rolling and initiate things. They have the capacity for short bursts of energy but don’t always have the energy to finish what they start. Our society often does not have the patience for people who don’t see things through from start to finish, which can lead to Manifestor children learning to work much harder than they were meant to with energy they do not have. Help them avoid that trap by teaching your Manifestor children to care for their authentic selves.

Motor centers give initiating power to the Throat Center.
The “motor” centers are the Will, Sacral, Emotional Solar Plexus and Root Centers.
  • Sleep

Manifestor children sleep best when they are in their own aura away from the energy of others (especially generators and manifesting generators). It’s best for them to lie down for a while before they are tired to discharge any energy they picked up during the day that isn’t theirs. Lying in bed reading a book or listening to music is a great way to unwind. Manifestor children may need more sleep than others, so going to bed early and sleeping in are not unusual. If Manifestor kids wait too long to go to bed, they may have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep through the night. Help them learn how to recognize the right time to head to bed before they are exhausted to settle in for the night.

  • Power

These kids have a strong tendency towards power struggles.  Parents have an intuitive understanding that they have to control Manifestors because they know the kid will do whatever they want to do and they will not know when enough is enough.  Since they are not here to get permission from others to do anything, they may push your boundaries intentionally to see how far they can take their power. They are designed to be incredibly capable people who can easily get things started in this world when they are following their inner creative flow. As kids who often believe they don’t need anyone, they may have a tendency to do their own thing or even to run away from home if they feel like it. As difficult as it may be, rather than reacting in anger, try to have a conversation with them about the situation. Punishment, angry reactiveness and extreme forms of control will only break the child.  A balance between giving your Manifestor child their freedom while stepping in to make sure they are safe (they are children after all!) is of the utmost importance.

  • Self-trust

As difficult as it may feel, as the parent of a Manifestor you must learn to give up the reins whenever it is possible and safe to do so. Manifestor children need to strengthen their ability to trust themselves little by little.  They must learn to listen to their creative flow and urges and follow them as a child. In a world that might often tell them “no,” teaching your Manifestor child to trust him or herself is a true gift.

  • Anger

The emotional theme of a Manifestor is anger. Teaching your child effective anger management strategies such as taking some time alone, breathing exercises or channeling their anger into sports or other movement practices will be of great value to them throughout their lives. A lot of anger can be avoided when they learn to slow down and inform others who will be impacted by their actions.

  • Informing

The strategy for Manifestor is to inform the people who will be impacted by their actions (i.e “I am going outside”). They learn quickly not to tell people what they are up to because people are deeply conditioned to tell them to stop. Draw the line when your child’s experimenting is potentially dangerous…but you do need to allow them to try new things without the fear of someone trying to stop them. The more people try to stop them, the more they will learn that they must keep their actions a secret.

Of course, when you hear what they are up to, your reaction may very well often be to stop them! This is natural. However, it’s important to choose your battles wisely with your manifestor child and only stop them when they are in real danger (i.e. “No, you can’t run in the street”). Take a deep breath, master your poker face and help them evaluate their actions before they take them. Consider the people who will be affected by their actions and teach them how to slow down just long enough to inform them what will happen to avoid the angry reactions of those people. It’s important to note that informing goes both ways. Your relationship with your Manifestor kid will be much smoother if you also remember to inform them about anything that will affect them. Rather than yes or no questions, use informative statements with them.

Essential Oil Recommendation for Manifestor Children (and Parents of Manifesors!): doTERRA Breathe (respiratory blend) to dissolve anger!

Projector kids are here to be a guide to direct others. They have a beautiful innate ability to guide and manage others because of their ability to see and understand systems from a birds’ eye perspective. They are able to do this best when they’ve received an invitation from someone who will truly appreciate the gifts they have to offer.

  • Recognition, Attention and Lovability

Projector children need recognition and attention to learn how to guide appropriately. Ask them questions about their opinion such as, “what do you think about this?” or “What is your advice about this?” Even at age 3. They need to learn how to wait to be asked, and you’ll be surprised at how much insight they have. Give them a place to be heard at the dinner table. Nothing makes a projector child feel more seen and loved than when their family makes space for their insight. When they are not given space to be heard, they may try to force their guidance onto those who have not asked and may become bitter when they are not well received.

  • Inadequacy

In society, being seen as busy and hard-working can be glorified. Projectors, however, are not designed to do intense physical work, which can even include things like mowing the lawn or projects around the home. Sometimes, they can help you with this work but expecting a Projector to quickly complete this work like a generator could will only lead you to frustration or anger. Removing the expectation of your projector child doing a lot of physical labor will save you much difficulty. Projectors are not lazy, and they can help around the house. But be sure to let them know it’s okay for them to work for short periods and take as much rest as they need in the course of accomplishing their task at hand.

  • Slowing Down, Resting and Sleeping

Because Projectors need much more rest than the generator types, they may overwork themselves in order to please you, their parent. Helping them discern when enough is enough and when the best times for naps or rest are can help avoid meltdowns in the house. On a similar note, Projectors need a lot of sleep and will sometimes sleep much longer than other types in your household. Know that this is normal and allow that time and space for your little projector. Going to bed to lay down before they are tired is also important for the best quality of sleep.

  • The Power of an Invitation

When a Projector child acts before receiving an invitation can create a lot of bitterness within them. This might manifest itself as other children calling them “bossy” or “controlling,” even if the Projector really does know a better way to do things and is trying to help everyone. Teach them to value themselves enough to wait for the invitation rather than wasting their wisdom and energy on people who don’t value it. When the Projector kid spends their time doing what they love and honing in on their personal talents, kids will naturally be drawn to their aura and invite them to do things or help guide them.

When your child wants to have friends over, it can work out better if you do the inviting rather than them. As the parent of a Projector child, it’s best for you to facilitate activities for them, otherwise, they may end up pushing people away or not being heard or seen by others. On the same note, you can invite your Projector things to do things in the household or share their wisdom with the other family members.

  • Honoring Their Innate Wisdom

Projectors are here to be wise about humanity and systems. Asking them to share their wisdom honors them and gives them practice at what they’re here to do — guide others who seek their strengths.

Essential Oil Recommendation for Projector Children (and Parents of Projectors!): doTERRA Digest Zen (digestive blend) to digest all the energy, information and food they take in every day, likely in too large of pieces.

Reflector kids are here to become wise by observing their surroundings. Their life purpose is about magnifying and reflecting what is going on around them. They are mirrors for our societies, barometers of the health of their respective communities. Because of this, they are sensitive to their environments and need to be in a place that makes them feel good, with people and surroundings they enjoy being around consistently.

  • Environment and Emotional Wisdom

The most important thing to teach a Reflector child is how to process the way their environment makes them feel.  Teach them to know when they are unhappy in a particular environment that it’s okay to leave. This includes anything from a playground to a restaurant to a city or a school. Big decisions, like changing schools, are of course difficult. But if the Reflector child is consistently unhappy with their school over time, it is important to look into other options. A Reflector may become sick, withdrawn or have other issues in an environment that is not correct for them. Your child may learn early on to ignore their sensitivities if this most important aspect of their lives is not considered by their caregivers.

Sometimes, certain aspects of your child’s environment can be adjusted in order to improve their wellbeing. Working with your little Reflector and experimenting with them in what feels good and what doesn’t will make them feel cared for.

  • Recognition and Love

Along with their environment, receiving recognition is also very important for Reflector kids. They may seem clingy at times because they crave the stability of their caregivers’ auras, especially when they are younger. Helping them to recognize their gifts and strengths will allow them to see that they are in fact strong and capable standing on their own. They may need you as parents around them more than other children. They need the consistency of your aura to feel the same and feel stable. When they come home after a long day of taking in the energy of others, recognizing their unique qualities and giving them emotional and physical affection gives them space to relax in the presence of a familiar aura.

Loving your Reflector child teaches them how to love themselves. There is a lot of volatility in their energy so how they experience their energy changes a lot. Teaching them how to love themselves regardless of what is going on around them will be invaluable to them as they move through life.

  • Me/Not Me

Because Reflectors’ designs are so open, they take in and amplify the energy around them more than any type. Teaching your child that extreme emotions or impulses may be coming from other people around them rather than themselves can give them more peace as they move through the world. Especially during the difficult teenage years, Reflectors may tend to think they are “losing it.” However, they may simply be amplifying their peers’ extremes that come during that time.

  • The Gifts of Time and Patience

For all major decisions, Reflectors need about 28 days for a full lunar cycle to complete. As children, they don’t need to know all the details of a lunar transit of course, but teaching them to slow down and see how they feel throughout a cycle will help them avoid a lot of disappointment in their lives. The nature of how they experience themselves will change over the course of their cycle, and over the course of many cycles of experimenting with this, they will learn their own patterning. Pressuring them to make decisions quickly (i.e. “Just hurry up and choose something!”) is simply not right for the Reflector child.

In our fast-paced society, it can be difficult for others to understand their slower nature. It’s important to teach your Reflector child to let others know they need some time to think before making a decision. If you are a Manifesting Generator parent, especially, and are jumping around from activity to activity, you must remember to slow down and inform your Reflector kid about what you are doing. This gives them time to catch up with you. When they have consistent support you will find they become very adaptable and will be able to transition smoothly from one step to the next.

  • Sleep and Rest

Help your Reflector child to recognize when enough is enough. Naps are important to avoid major meltdowns during the day. It’s also helpful for them to get into bed before they are tired to discharge all of the excess energy they’ve picked up during the day.

Essential Oil Recommendation for Reflector Children (and Parents of Reflectors!): Frankincense to help ground and balance the energy that is being taken in and sampled all day.

In Conclusion

Knowing yourself as a parent is just as important as knowing your child. Know your limitations, know the nature of your own energetic design and become comfortable with who you are. The most important gift you can give to your child is your own full self-actualization.  If they see you do it, they will believe it’s possible for themselves.

Learn new parenting strategies. If you don’t like the way you were raised or your own default societal patterning, then embark on a journey of experimentation.  As with anything new, it will take a little practice and time, but it will be well worth it. You and your children alike deserve to fully enjoy life as your unique, authentic selves.

How to parent in a way that honors your kids with Human Design -Adventures in Parenting Part 1

Do you want to honor your kids for who they are while making your life as a parent easier?

You can learn to understand your child – who they are and what they need to stay resilient and self-reliant in the world.

Loving your kids is one of the fiercest and most powerful love experiences in the world. It’s likely the only relationship where you would throw yourself in front of a car to save them without a second thought.

The perspective we have on raising kids is often based on our various forms of social conditioning. Naturally, we bring our own biases to the way that we parent through our value systems and the way that we ourselves were raised. Sometimes, we are simply hungry, tired or stressed and our children see us at our worst. Human Design helps you approach parenting differently. It gives you a new and balanced perspective based on the truth of who you are and the truth of who your children are. It empowers you to recognize how you operate energetically to parent your children in a way that is more honoring and respectful for everyone involved.

Human Design is like a map for your life.  It is a powerful tool that grants you permission to be yourself in this life. When you entered this world, you were your most authentic self. But along the way, well-meaning parents, teachers, and society told us who we should be or how we should act.  We may have learned to put on masks to please others, but that ends up causing us pain.

Knowing Human Design as a parent helps you take care of yourself so you can be ready to react appropriately for your kids. It’s the place to start.  However, as adults, we may have a lot of work to shed what is not ours because we have been conditioned for many years. Without learning about your own Human Design you may pass your own conditioning onto your kids without meaning to.

The blessing that comes from learning about your kid’s Human Design is that we, as parents, can avoid conditioning our children to be who they are not.  We can make their life easier and they can become more confident in how they navigate the world. This also makes our lives easier as parents.

Generator kids are here to provide the workforce energy to the world by doing things that truly get them excited. Generator energy is sustainable and is rooted in the sacral center.

  • Connecting with the Sacral and Self-trust

The sacral is all about workforce and life force energy, and asking your child yes or no questions keeps their sacral energy turned on.  Giving them options will only confuse their sacral. Some examples of good ways to phrase questions are, “Would you like to brush your teeth?” “Would you like to have an apple?” rather than, “What do you want to do?” or “What do you want to eat?” Giving them yes or no questions like this empowers them to make choices that excite them and make them happy. The answer they need is already inside them, but as children, they will need help practicing this.

Generator children are born with their sacral turned on but often have that light dimmed by conditioning. A Generator kid is made to be lit up and excited by the things they are doing. Keeping their sacral energy active gives a Generator child a great deal of self-trust which will be very important for them as they grow up and make more and more important decisions. As a parent, teaching your Generator child to trust themselves and their sacral response is truly a gift to the world.

  • Waiting to Respond

One of the best things you can teach your Generator kid is to wait until they are recognized to respond or speak. You’re not teaching them to stay quiet or to dim their light. Rather, you are teaching them to save their energy for times when it is recognized. For example, you can teach your child to stay quiet in class until the teacher gives them something to respond to. When the Generator child is comfortable in their own energy, the teacher won’t have a problem recognizing that and will naturally call on them to share their answers.  If they wait to be recognized, they will be.  Speaking without being recognized can lead to frustration because what they’re saying may not be well received.

  • Frustration

Generator children have a stair-step learning curve. They may find they are very good at something in the beginning and then hit a plateau and feel stuck and frustrated. You can use yes or no questions such as “Do you want to keep going?” or “Do you want to quit baseball?” to find your child’s true answer despite any frustration they may be experiencing. Once they’ve given you their answer, help them learn to stay true to their sacral response by either pushing onward with the activity or quitting it depending on their answer. The interesting thing about the frustrating plateau is that mastery is often just on the other side of it. A great resource for young children experiencing Generator frustration is the book “Frogslime — A child’s guide to calming down”.

Learning techniques like the ones in this book or others like meditation and breathing exercises can help a generator kid get through this frustration.

  • Attention and Lovability

Setting aside time to be with your Generator child, specifically doing what they want to do makes them feel loved and fulfilled.  Parents’ reinforcement of their worth gives them the recognition that they crave so much. When a Generator kid is not recognized for their gifts and talents, they may unconsciously move towards getting revenge on those who have not seen or heard them, even if it was unintentional. Scheduling a specific time to make sure your full attention is on them is excellent preventative medicine for the Generator child’s soul.

  • Play and Sleep

Generator children have a lot of energy. If they are not physically tiring themselves out during the day, they may have trouble falling and staying asleep. They need a lot of physical play time so that they have a chance to wear themselves out — with all of the electronic devices today this can be a challenge. Teaching them to regularly move their body from a young age will help them know for themselves how good it feels.

Essential Oil Recommendation for Generator Children (and Parents of Generators!): Peppermint to dissolve frustration!

Manifesting Generator kids are similar to Generator kids in that they have a sacral response. However, they fall into their own category due to some nuances that make them special. They are also here to bring their workforce energy into the world. While a pure Generator is designed to do one thing at a time, a Manifesting Generator is actually designed to skip steps and/or be working on more than one thing at a time.

Motor centers give initiating power to the Throat Center.
The “motor” centers are the Will, Sacral, Emotional Solar Plexus and Root Centers.
  • Connecting with the Sacral

The Manifesting Generator child is much like the Generator child, as they are both Generator types with a defined sacral. The sacral is all about workforce and life force energy, and asking your child yes or no questions keeps their sacral energy turned on.  Giving them options will only confuse their sacral. Some examples of good ways to phrase questions are, “Would you like to brush your teeth?” “Would you like to have an apple?” rather than, “What do you want to do?” or “What do you want to eat?”

Giving them yes or no questions like this empowers them to make choices that excite them and make them happy. The answer they need is already inside them, but as children, they will need help practicing this. Once they’ve made their decision, let them know it’s okay for them to skip steps and to do multiple things at once. They may be told in their life, “Choose one thing and stick to it!” but this is not necessarily correct for an MG. Help them trust themselves and learn to follow their own unique flow even if no one understands it.

  • Attention and Lovability

You won’t need to give quite as much attention to a Manifesting Generator child as you would a pure Generator. They have more independence like the Manifestor child, so make sure they learn to inform you (and anyone else they may affect) of what they are about to do. Despite their Manifestor independence they still do need attention and recognition for who they are. Like Generator children they may channel their anger and frustration into getting revenge for not being heard.

  • Decisiveness and Trusting Themselves

Manifesting Generator children are born with their sacral turned on but often have that light dimmed by conditioning. An MG child is made to be lit up and excited by the things they are doing. Keeping their sacral energy active gives them a chance to learn to trust themselves.

Like a Generator, they should wait to respond to something outside of themselves before acting on a decision, but they should also envision the possible outcomes before they act. As a parent, it is very helpful for you to help them with this as it is not easy to slow a Manifesting Generator down. Help them slow them down so they can think “What would happen if” – it’s very important for them to stop and imagine this to respond in a more effective way. And, like a Manifestor, before they act, it is beneficial for them if they inform anyone who may be affected by their actions.

  • Balance of play and rest

Manifesting Generator kids will need a lot of play time and exercise to wear themselves out during the day. With all of the electronic distractions available today it can be easy for them to spend too much time being stationary, but if they don’t tire themselves out during the day it will be very difficult for them to fall asleep at night. You may also find that they are unable to stay asleep through the night. This is due to all of the built-up, excess energy that hasn’t been released during the day.

Because of the amount of energy a Manifesting Generator naturally has, you may find that your child wants to participate in more than one athletic activity. For other children, choosing one sport or activity to focus on can be good, but for an MG child, it’s okay to be doing many different things at once. If you ask them if they’d like to try a new activity and their sacral says yes, then it’s a great idea to try it out.

  • Frustration and Anger

Manifesting Generator children can experience both frustration and anger as emotional themes. When they do not envision their potential experiences or when they don’t inform about what they’re going to do, they can become angry when things don’t work out.  Others may also become angry at them; for example, their school teacher may become angry when your MG child walks out of the classroom without asking because they needed to get something out of their backpack in the hallway. The frustration comes most when the people around them are not going as fast as them or trying to slow them down. Again, teaching your MG child how to inform and making sure their sacral says “yes” before acting will relieve a lot of their frustration.

Essential Oil Recommendation for Manifesting Generator Children (and Parents of MGs!): Breathe Respiratory blend or Wild Orange to dissolve frustration & anger.

Understanding your life through the 5 Human Design Types

Every single human is one of the types.

Human Design brings together principles of Astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, the Chakra system & Quantum Physics to create a distinctive system that acknowledges and celebrates the uniqueness in each human – no two charts are alike. Human Design is a beautiful tool for self-awareness. We have all experienced conditioning and expectations from the world around us and it causes us pain when we are not being our true selves. Learning about the Human Design Types is the first step to acceptance. It is about accepting yourself – but also having compassion and acceptance for others. The five energy types in Human Design all work differently, none better or worse than the other, just different.

The five (5) Human Design Types

  1. Manifestor
  2. Generator
  3. Manifesting Generator
  4. Projector
  5. Reflector

Roles on earth by Type

  • Manifestors are here to get things started
  • Generators are here to build
  • Manifesting Generators are here to build & find efficiencies
  • Projectors are here to direct & guide
  • Reflectors are here to be a mirror for their community

Approximate % of the population

  • Manifestors (9%)
  • Generators (35%)
  • Manifesting Generators (35%)
  • Projectors (20%)
  • Reflectors (1%)

Strategy by Type

  • Manifestor – Inform those they will impact
  • Generator – Wait to respond to a sign
  • Manifesting Generator – Respond & Inform
  • Projector – Wait to be invited
  • Reflector – Wait a full moon cycle

And now let’s dive in to each Type a little

Human Design Manifestors initiate!

Your Essence: Internal non-verbal creative flow.

In the chart you are a Manifestor because you have an open Sacral & one motor to your Throat. Your energy will come in bursts and then you need to rest and retreat in between.

Your gift is initiating people into change & transformation through your creative flow. You’re here to have an impact & to experience creative freedom.  You possess the energy to initiate and bring your vision into reality.

Your emotions as a guide:  Anger is a sign of creative disruption. It is about not activating full flow of creative power.  It’s meant to give you a signal, so you get back in alignment.

Strategy is your way of being in the world. Your Strategy is to “Inform” those you will impact with whatever you decide to do. You don’t have to get their approval; you just need to let them know what you are doing. It will create the path of least resistance.  When you inform, you decrease resistance and therefore your own anger and the anger of others.

Flow: Manifestors are unique in that you require nothing from outside of yourself.  Inspiration & your drive to create comes from within. It’s like you have a “divine spark” of creative flow. Because of this, it’s important to maintain a consistent connection with your higher self/internal voice.

Decision Making: Let your authority guide you to which ideas to act on. Acting from this inner truth will allow your full manifesting potential to be expressed. In the summary of your chart there will be something next to the word authority.  It will either be emotional, splenic or ego.

Human Design Generators transmute!

Your essence: To be masterful of who you are and be a builder.

In the chart you are a Generator because your Sacral (second to bottom square) is defined (colored) in your chart. Your energy is sustainable.

Generators are the work force & life force energy of the world. You have a sparkly, juicy aura when you are doing the right work and you can light up the world.

Your emotions as a guide:  Frustration arises when you have lost momentum or gone off your path. It’s meant to give you a signal, so you get back in alignment.

Strategy is your way of being in the world. Your Strategy is to “Wait to Respond” to signs or things outside of yourself.  Response can be as subtle as you are driving, and you are getting hungry and you decide to get off the ramp to eat some food. Or it could be bigger like someone asking if you want to join their business. Don’t push, wait for life to unfold to you.

Goal: Find things that light you up. As a Generator you have this big, open, beautiful magnetic aura. It’s like this spiral of energy that brings things and even people towards you.  Because your aura is so penetrating, the world is better off if Generators are doing work that lights them up.  When you are happy and inspired by your work, everyone around you feels it and is also lit up.  Your aura effects the people around you.

Decision Making: You can figure out what you really want to be doing by getting to know your Sacral.  If you need clarity on anything, have someone ask you yes or no questions and answer with your Sacral sound.

How do you Generators go about finding the right work?

It’s about getting to know your Sacral. The sacral response gives the generator inner authority and permission to let go of what they feel obligated or compelled to do. Learn about your Sacral (coming soon).

Human Design Manifesting Generators bend time!

Your essence: Find the most effective & efficient way to do things – you find the quickest route through things.

In the chart you are an Manifesting Generator because your Sacral is defined in your chart (like a Generator) plus you have one of the four motor centers to your Throat Center (like a Manifestor). Your energy is sustainable.

Manifesting Generatorss are the work force & life force energy of the world. You are uniquely capable of doing more than most. You thrive on multi-tasking and you are here to show the world that we can do things in a different way at a different speed.

Your emotions as a guide:  Frustration + Anger (together = impatience) arises when your creative process is disrupted and you have lost momentum. The emotions are meant to give you a signal, so you get back in alignment.

Strategy is your way of being in the world. Your Strategy is to “Wait to Respond” & “Inform”. First, respond to signs outside of yourself. Response can be as subtle as you are driving, and you are getting hungry and you decide to get off the ramp to eat some food. Or it could be bigger like someone asking if you want to join their business. You then need to inform those you will impact. Following your strategy is the path of least resistance.

Goal: Find things that light you up. As an Manifesting Generator you have this big, open, beautiful magnetic aura. It’s like this spiral of energy that brings things and even people towards you.  Sometimes you have to try things on (think throwing spaghetti) to see if they are right for you.

Learn about your Sacral (coming soon).

Human Design Projectors orchestrate!

Your essence: Manage, guide and direct others.

In the chart you are a Projector because your Sacral is not defined (it’s open/white) in your chart and you have no motor centers to your Throat.

Projectors have the gift of guiding and directing others by knowing how to ask the right questions. Projectors can be gifted organizers and see things that others often miss. They can see the big picture, recognize the talents and gifts of others, and bring people together.

Your emotions as a guide:  Bitterness arises when you are depleted (likely from trying to keep up with Generators). It’s a signal that it’s time to replenish your energy. You get bursts of energy which allows you to accomplish a lot in a short period of time.  You are also able to absorb sacral energy from others, but it’s not sustainable. You need to schedule rest and know when enough is enough.

Strategy is your way of being in the world. Rather than initiating, your Strategy is to wait to “Be invited”. When you live your strategy, life flows. Wait before you share your wisdom.  Even though you intrinsically know how to advise others, if you aren’t invited to share your knowledge, it will fall on deaf ears. The energetic exchange has to be there. Wait to be invited into “big” life decisions such as friendship, romance, career/work opportunities and where to live.  You might fear that by waiting, no one will ever invite you.  No need to worry, your aura does the talking. A projector who waits will be asked by the right people who value their wisdom.

Goal: Find your people – your niche. You are not here for everyone.  Each Projector is here to manage, guide, and direct a specific group of people.  Trust that they will invite you to share your wisdom in their lives. Do not waste time with those who are not “your people.” You are too valuable.  Don’t try to get recognition from people who don’t see you.  They don’t deserve you and you risk burning yourself out.  Activate your self-worth.  If you don’t find yourself valuable, why should others?

Decision Making: Talk decisions out with trusted people; essentially “guiding” yourself. Don’t worry about what the other person is saying it’s the act of talking it out (your voice, your own guidance) that gives you the answer.

Human Design Reflectors calibrate!

Your essence: To measure through reflection of the human condition & human potential.

In the chart you are a Reflector because no energy centers are colored in (defined), you are a light energy being.

You are a wise observer here to mirror for your community to magnify and reflect back, to sample and to be one with totality.  Reflectors are gifted at detecting when something is unusual or out of line around them.

Your emotions as a guide:  Disappointment arises when you see unfulfilled potential in others, or you need more time for yourself. Use the emotion as a signal to re-align.

Strategy is your way of being in the world. Your Strategy is to “Wait a Full Moon Cycle”. Reflectors are lunar beings. This makes you sensitive to the moon cycles & the cosmic environment.  Like the moon, you have a subtle glow with a powerful influence.  Focus on the present moment; who you are today.  Being so connected to the moon, you may feel like a different person every day. As a lunar being, your strategy is to connect with the lunar cycle.  This means waiting 28 days to make decisions. Use this time to discuss your options with trusted friends.

Goal: Find a healthy community. You can’t change what is inside you, but you can change your environment. It’s important for Reflectors to find the right environment and community to call home. Too much time spent in an unhealthy environment can make them physically sick.  Also, learn to detach from the energy you are constantly absorbing from others.

Decision Making: During your moon cycle waiting period, a consistent peer group is important for you as they help you make decisions.  Discussing your options with friends allows you to “reflect” your decisions off of them.  This is part of your process.  When you hear it reflected through someone else, you can get clarity on it. For you, clarity only comes externally. Take your time. Don’t allow anyone to rush you.  You will suddenly have clarity, a knowing deep inside, if the offer was right for you or not.
