Q: Do the Lines of each Gate really impact the energy of the Gate a person has?

First, for all newbies, or newbs as my kids would say. 😊

The Gates are the numbers on your chart. To examine the Gates in relation to the Lines, focus on the gates next to the planet symbols rather than the numbers in the bodygraph. There are numbers on the left and right of your chart. For simplicity, let’s focus on one planet and one gate on one side. For example, in this chart, the gate is Gate 30.

The Lines are shown after the “.” in the number, next to the planet. So, in this example, the line is Line 6.

A: So, to answer the question, yes, the Lines will impact the energy of the Gate.

I think of the Lines next to the Gates as how you are going to learn about the energy or play out the energy of that Gate. I want to break down HOW this works. First things first. You will learn some things in relation to yourself. And some things in relation to other. You can dig deeper into the lines on my other blog post about the Lines and Profiles.

There are intrapersonal lines – which is more of an individual learning. 

Lines 1-3 are intrapersonal and here is the high level of their energy:

LINE 1 – INVESTIGATE | The investigator is really passionate about digging deep to find the truth and loves sharing what they’ve learned from their research.

LINE 2 – INTEGRATE | The hermit has natural wisdom and needs to be absorbed in their own process. They might not always see their gifts and could use some help from others to recognize them or call them out to share them.

LINE 3 – EXPLORE/EXPERIMENT | The explorers learn through trial and error and life experiences. Line 3s have a natural ability to keep trying, even if they fail, because they aren’t afraid of failure. People are naturally drawn to a 3 because they tend to be very likable.

There are transpersonal lines – which involves learning from interactions with or in relation to others.

Lines 4-6 are transpersonal and here is the high level of their energy:

LINE 4 – NETWORK | The opportunities for Line 4s lie not with strangers but rather within personal networks. Line 4 people want to have a close group or network of friends — their people. The quality of their relationships determines their quality of life.

LINE 5 – MIRROR | The heretic/creative rebel’s process is outward and detached. This doesn’t mean they don’t have close relationships, but they can easily network with strangers. They have a hero-like energy, which often causes others to project onto them. The energy is like a mirror. If you have a line 5, remember that you don’t have to save everyone — it’s okay to say no.

LINE 6 – EXPLORE/INTEGRATE/SHARE | Line 6 has three phases throughout life. The first phase (Age 0 to ~30) is all about trial and error and it’s similar to the 3^rd line. The second phase (Age 30 to ~50) is about formulating learned experiences. The third phase (~50+) is about sharing wisdom. Trust is very important to the 6^th-line profiles.

A Real Life Example of the influence of the Line 4

A person was feeling frustrated with their coworkers due to the challenges of working with them. However, upon reviewing their chart, we noticed that they had a lot of Line 4s next to several of the Gates in their chart. Having Line 4 energy indicates that they are likely to learn about energies in an intrapersonal way – essentially, they are learning and improving their own energy by learning from their relationships with their coworkers. Once you understand how a Line can affect one of your gates, it may be as simple as shifting your perspective on how you perceive things. Instead of getting frustrated, you can be intrigued by how it might play out or what you might learn.

When delving into this, begin with a single Planet, a single Gate, and a single Line. Determine whether you may experience the energy of that gate independently or in relation to another person. Then, examine the details of the line to understand how you might experience or learn about the energy of that Gate. I personally would start with the Conscious (right-side) Sun because it’s the biggest energy in your chart and the most likely one for you to relate to.

An Example of One Gate Affected by the Lines

I am going to pick one Gate and look at it with all the lines to show how it plays out.

Let’s consider Gate 10, which represents empowered self-love. I will demonstrate how it might manifest in each scenario. The energy of Gate 10 can be expressed in its challenging form or highest potential. Sometimes, we need to experience the challenge to understand it. However, how we experience or understand it can be influenced by the specific Line it is in.

So, Gate 10 is showing the world how to love yourself. If you’re unsure where to start in learning how to do this, your Line can provide guidance.

Here’s how the Gate 10 plays out in relation to each Line:

10.1 – You may learn what empowered self-love means to you by searching the web, reading books or blogs about the subject. You will dive deep into investigating what this energy means.

10.2 – You may retreat to learn about self-love energy and what it means to you. You are loving yourself by going into the hermit mode, and someone will call you out to share what you learned.

10.3 – You will experiment or explore to figure out self-love. It could be in different ways, sometimes it’s literal travel, but sometimes the experiments are in daily life. You will explore it based on experiential learning.

10.4 – You will discover self-love through your connections, including friends, family, partners, colleagues, and everyone you engage with. Your network will also present opportunities for personal growth and learning.

10.5 – You may be tested by the projections of others and encounter criticism due to the nature of Line 5 energy. It’s important to not let their energy or opinions affect you and to prioritize self-love. Taking some time away from people can help you assess how their energy impacts you.

10.6 – It depends where you are in the cycle. If you are age 0-30, check 10.3, it will be similar to that. If you are age 30-50 you will be in a place where you are integrating the lessons from your youth about self-love. If you are age 50+ you would be at a place to share about the lessons you learned and how you integrated them into your life and be a role model for others.
